The publisher of the fast-growing birthday-wishing site, AwodaPa, Solomon Mensah, has given a discount on his debut book, dubbed “Derailed: When Common Sense Eludes a Nation” as he celebrates his birthday today, June 27.
“It is my birthday and it will not be possible to organize a birthday party for all of my friends and loved ones far and near. Nonetheless, my book can reach them wherever they are, and I am, on my special occasion, reducing the price to a 25% discount. This means that the book that sells at 60GHC will now be sold at 45GHC when the 25% discount is applied.
Mr Mensah said, “This promotion will run from today, June 27, to Friday, July 1, 2022.”
The book was launched on March 7, this year, in Accra with prominent personalities, including celebrated sports journalist Saddick Adams and renowned investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni, in attendance.
Mr Azure had described Solomon as “one of the few hard-working, committed, and courageous journalists I know. His book and its content give a better testimony to these attributes than I can say with words.”
The product of Sunyani Senior High School was born in Sunyani in the then Brong Ahafo Region (today Bono Region) in 1986. He gained admission to Berekum College of Education in 2007.
In 2011, he attended the Ghana Institute of Journalism, where he earned a Diploma Certificate in Communication Studies in 2013. From 2014 to 2016, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies (Journalism) at the same institution.
Solomon Mensah loves watching documentaries, has a passion for international affairs and is an avid viewer of Al-Jazeera — one of the media houses he would love to work with as a foreign correspondent in the near future.
