From China with love, Ghanaian academic sends ‘hearts’ home

A China-based Ghanaian academic, Dr Isaac Asare, has rekindled his love for his wife, Portia Afua Asare, on her birthday, which fell on Saturday, May 21.

In a WhatsApp chat with AwodaPa, Dr Asare said his wife is his best friend and that he deemed her birthday very important.

“A very special birthday wish to my wife and best friend. May God bless you and make you great. No matter how crafty words might sound, they can never convey how much I love you. You are cherished,” he said.

Meanwhile, Madam Portia Afua Asare also sent in her birthday wishes, indicating that she was grateful to God for adding another year to her age.

“Gracious Lord, thank you so much for another year around the sun. Thank you for your divine presence in my life. If I’m alive to see this day in good health, it is only because of your guidance and protection,” she said.

She added: “For the favour, you have bestowed upon my life, Father, on this day, I pray for forgiveness of sin, cleansing of all unrighteousness. Fill me with the desire and will to do what is right and pleasing to you always. Draw me closer to you, Lord, and direct my path. I pray for your endless mercy and grace in my life. I pray that no evil may befall me today and always. Lead me to the life that you have planned for me.”

Mrs Asare also asked God to bless her with a long life and fill her heart with joy as she reiterated her desire to serve the Lord with all her might.
