Ace sports journalist Saddick Adam popularly known as the Sports Obama has eulogised TV3’s newscaster, Komla Adom, on his birthday which falls today, Thursday, April 14.
Writing on his Facebook wall, Sports Obama said Mr Adom is a talented individual.
“This guy, I may not finish if I start. Supremely talented and one of the few people you’d always want in your corner in this media thing,” he said.
Recounting their days at the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), the Sports Obama said Komla Adom was a brilliant student
“The shark in our class at GIJ. The Kobolos [truants] like Kwaku Owusu Peprah of Joy FM and Tetteh Banafo of Adom FM and Otumfuoba Yaw Osei will not come to class but during exams, they’ll pressure him saaa [sic] but myself being a serious student will be in camp with him.
“Komla is your go-to man. Senior celebrity. Prof., happy birthday. We love you.”
Komla Adom’s work colleagues have as well celebrated him on his special day. TV3’s Eastern Regional correspondent Yvonne Neeqyuaye Agyapong said on Facebook, “Your storytelling prowess is exceptional. From the Eastern command, we ask for God’s choicest blessing upon your life Komla Adom. Ibrahim Abubakar Ruwankarau has given a directive. Christopher Amoako says he will triple what you sent him on his birthday ‘no’. Cheers.”
Meanwhile, another TV3 staff Dennis Wedam had earlier posted on his Facebook wall a beautiful birthday cake the newscaster received as a gift. The said cake, shaped in the form of a television set has Komla Adom’s picture embossed to appear he was reading the Midday Live news on the popular television channel.
“The feast is about getting started, but first, we need to do the birthday edition of #MiddayLive on TV3 Ghana,” Dennis wrote.
